What should I be looking for in a soundbar?

You don’t want a soundbar just because you can crank the
volume up louder than ever. You want a soundbar when you’re looking to improve the home viewing experience. For some people, that means a bar that packs a punch from behind the sofa; for others, it’s something that can connect with other smart speakers in the home.

What’s one thing to be aware of when buying a soundbar?

Space,or rather, the lack of it. While they aren’t as clunky as speakers, soundbarscan be 75-100 cm long. It is very common to place them under a TV or behind your sofa, so check that units and shelves have enough space.

You’ll also want to check whether the soundbar uses Bluetooth
as standard or requires cables to connect to the TV.

 

How do soundbars connect to my TV?

Most of the soundbars we have in stock will utilise Bluetooth to connect. When setting up a sound system with subwoofers, most will connect wirelessly, but some TVs may require an HDMI or optical connection.

 

What’s the main difference between soundbars and subwoofers?

A soundbar can be a subwoofer, but a subwoofer can’t always
be a soundbar. Soundbars aim to deliver improved overall sound quality, while subwoofers focus on enhancing low-frequency tones to boost bass. That’s why you tend to have a bar facing you, but you’d place a subwoofer in the corner or under something.

Do you provide installation services?

We can! However, we can only offer installation services in Co. Donegal, Derry City, and Strabane for most of our major appliances. Our team of experienced installers are fully insured and certified to provide this service. 

Do you offer delivery?

Yes, we offer delivery. At Callaghans Electrical, we strive to offer best in class delivery to our customers. We will deliver appliances to any address within the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland.
